I've got a fischer cycle 416, when i talked to fischer he recomended a 41mm fcr carb. but i've heard people say some things that make me wonder if that's too much. I race MX tracks, both small and technical and long and fast...so i need good bottom end and good top end power. what do you guys think.

motor mods!!!!!!!
(On order) JE 12.5:1 piston
Fischer full port and polish job
sparks full race cam

right now i've got a fischer modified stock carb. but i def. need something bigger...should i go for all the marbles and do what fischer said and get the 41mm or get a 39. also, i might be stroking my motor to a 440 soon..not this winter but deff. by the end of next season.

Thanx for your help in advance fellas!!!!!!!!!!!!

My vote would be the 39mm FCR. With a 41 you'd be sacrificing some bottom end power for some top end gain. You'd really notice the missing bottom end when going through the technical portions.

if you are gettin a 440 soon, why not deal with the slight decrease of bottom end, and get the 41, that way u wont hav to buy it later, JMO

That is a valid point.

Im not a fan of big carbs for MX racing, my advice would be to get the 39FCR, or send your stock carb to Tom Miller Racing for a high flow mod.

could somebody explain what a high flow mod would mean on a stock carb and how you should be able to do it yourself ?

I live in belgium and I have the machinery in here .

Do you want major bottom end or would you want to sacrafice a little bottom end for some top end. If you are big into MX racing the FCR39 is prolly the way to go. But Bean has a good point. With a 12.5:1 piston you with have alot of power on bottom anyway.

I went with a FCR39 and I have a sparks engine. I am very happy with it. I would not get a FCR41.

talk with rocky ridge racing,(270-259-9604),Ken has a custom FCR 40MM carb and said he get's more and better power out of it than the 39 or the 41 and it's cheaper than both. :huh
