Alright, I got a job as a mechanic at a Dodge dealership now. And instead of taking stuff from home I'll be getting a new toolbox and tool to keep in the shop. I'm going to sears for wrenches ect so I'll look at the boxes, but frankly, I'm not a fan of Crapmans tool boxes.

So since I don't like Craftsmen, or as I always say Crapsman, I was looking around. I talked to my aunt, she knows a guy who sells proto stuff for like, $100 for a full set, was looking online and I see they make blackhawk, which I didn't know. I've used blackhawk at school and it's alright, it would suite me fine.

So here's the kind of box I like, I'm not a huge fan of the big tall sets, I like the carts,

http://www.stanleyproto.com/catalog_images/mid_res/J455041-8BK-1S_mid_res.jpg

Thats 3.5' tall and 4' wide, but it says it weighs 472lbs ? Is that possible ???

So I know theres some mechanics on here and I figured I'd ask for some help/opinions since I'm just getting started.

~Thanks

my suggestion is look on craigslist for a while. you can find good deals on a box and tools. just wait for the right one to come and then mean while use your tools from the house. at least thats what i think, lot cheaper than crapsman lol. as for the box being that heavy, it must be pretty heavy duty, for something that size.

long time no see were you been?:)

the new craftsmen does suck but i there older stuff is good. we got 1 craftsmen tool box not very big but enough to hold some of the more important tools. i took a tv cart got it at a yard sale for $5.00 cut the supports and top off and put my tool box on it added some handles and i can pull it around my garage easily. it gets the job done.

300maniac had a good idea with craigslist you can also try ebay and look in local paper.

Thanks for the opinions keep 'em coming.

300 maniac, I've been busy. Do a lot of work at school, especially after school in autos. That actually why I got the job at the dealership, my teacher was like I owe you one big time (I basically built his personal car from the ground up last year) so he called up the dealership head of maintenance/repair and recommended me and I got the job.

That and I've been fiddling with the stang

great looking ford. sry im going off topic. i saw in your your ford post that you were looking for side steps not sure if you decided what you were going to get.

these are the 10in hoop ll the truck does sit up a little bit higher than stock and comparing a dodge to ford a might not help out but i know they dont make truck look any lower and are easy to install

I've searched craigslist, the $3800 stuff is just way to much for me right now.
