Ok my friend has got a Yamaha Warrior frame and is gonna put a YZ 465 two stroke motor in it off of the bikes yamaha used to make in the late 80's the motor has a little porting. Do you think it will be strong? Do think it will run with a lightly modded banshee? What about a Quad Zilla? Let me know what yall think!!!

if you are getting everything for free , than go for it.
if you have to pay for stuff i think it may be a waste of time.

i'm not saying your getting a bad deal.
its just that the idea behind a hybrid is to get a great handling chassis and put in a killer motor ( this is why 90% of hybrids are 250r based machines).
the warrior was not a great handling machine nor was it lightweight this is why you don't see many people building them.

I'd say buy it. Those 465 motors seem to be pretty sought after these days, lots of people getting into vintage racing.

That is true the 250r is a great chassis! I think the thing that makes people say the weight of the chassis is a factor is because yes it does weigh alot with that big 4 stroke motor on it but when you take the motor off i promise you its not much more than say a banshee or 250r. And another thing is look at how a Quadzilla will get up and go with a 500 two stroke. They weigh alot more than a warrior but the warrior i'm talkin bout is gonna be motor wise just a little smaller and with alot less weight than the zilla so maybe it will get up and go!!!!

no doubt it will be fast , i was just saying it may not be the best mx quad.

if its a playride quad or a build your lookin for i say go for it , and good luck with your build

It will be a BEAST if you get everything running good. Ive got two YZ490's from the mid 80's and those things are just plane crazy with power. All the old yz400, 465, and 490's were power houses! I cant remember about the 465 or 400, but the 490's are a 4 speed which makes for a handfull when in the power with the wider ratio gears. Lengthen it out some and the quad would probably make a good hill climb or drag quad.

Thank you
Justin
