400ex carrier

will the 450r carrier fit in the 400ex? Mine went kapoot in my 400 and i was told to buy a 450r carrier and ill have much better luck with bearing life..... help please.:confused:

I think the 450r carrier may be narrower.

a friend of mine told me to do it. he said that he had one in his and it worked fine... i belive just the outer portion is narrower but only by an eigth....
