how can you tell when a steering stabilizer is no good anymore? its a denton stick style i believe. i just bought it and it don't seem to make a difference when riding.

Take it off and see if you can notice a difference.

I had a Denton stick stabilizer on mine that wore out...
I could tell it was done when I would set it on full hard, and it wouldn't have much resistance when jerking the bars back and forth. I could definitely tell that it didn't have as much resistance as it used to. I could also tell it was worn out because there was not much of a difference in resistance between each click/setting as it used to have.

ok well can i just replace the ram part of it instead of having to buy a whole new stabilizer?

Depending on if it is rebuildable or not you can get a kit and rebuild it. I know I read on here you can get another cartage but I don't know where.

well i just bought this thing and i think i got screwed.. so if i can get another cartrige someone please point me in the right direction..

Did you buy it new or used? If you bought it new I would clean it up and send it back and tell them it doesn't work.

bought it used..i rode my buddies bike and it seems to be no different than mine.. so i think the one i bought is already wore out.
