how do i find an air leak in my intake system?

i would take it all off and then seal off one end put it in a bath tub or sumthin seal off all but a small hole on the other end then take an air compresser or sonethin and let it blow into that hole and if you see any bubles that is were the leak is;) ;) ;)

Just spray some soapy water onto your intake, boot, hose to carb, etc... Watch for bubbles, find the bubbles, you've found your leak.

WARNING:......THIS MAY BE DANGEROUS.......

I'm not 100% sure this ok to do or even right, but this sound familar.

Use a propane torch that is not lit and move it around your intake and if the motor increases in RPM there is a leak.

Anyone else hear of this?

starting fluid would be better to use than propane. i have been told this will work on crank seals on a 2 stroke to see if they leak

JOEX yea i've heard of it. you can do the same thing with carb cleaner.

This thing about a an unlit torch and the intake... saw a Cat D-3 hit a has line uprooting and breaking the line.... the friggin dozer took off at warp speed... smashed into building and blew overrevved motor... that was a ton of pure gas though.....

Just spray WD 40 around any suspected areas , while engine is running, and you will find vacume leak

sry i was thinking of sumthin different but me and my cusin has a air leak in his air from the filter to the engine and we just took it off:huh
