First is there different models of the Uni air filter for the 400? Secondly do they offer better air flow over stock? I had posted things to buy for a new 400 and an air filter was one of them. My riding will be mostly woods, trails and maybe some mud to a smaller degree.

Thanks, I knew each quad had its own designed filter but wasn't sure if Uni made a couple different styles for the 400.

Yeah just get the UNI filter for a 400EX. They do offer more flow over stock being that the filter is dimensionally larger. I got mine through the site sponsor C&D racing a couple years ago. I believe I paid around $30 then, the price may have gone up a little since then though. Mention that you are a member here and you should get a 10% discount ;)

Does anyone know the difference between the Pro Uni and the regular Uni air filter?

The 04/05 450r filter is the same size. I've also herd that the Honda Rincon filter will fit. As for places with cheap ones Ebay is the place. Or you could look on here that's where I got my second one.

Rockymountainatv has 2 model Uni filters; one is the Pro Uni for $39.99 and the other states just a Uni filter for around $29.99. Also there was a sleeve available for the Pro Uni which was another $10.

I see, it's probably the Pro Design pro flow kit they are referring to. The inner and outer filter layers are able to be separated where with the UNI filter, the 2 layers are bonded together.

Not sure how worth it the Pro Design kit is as I have never used them. They have been around for years though. The regular UNI filter is all you really need though. Maybe try asking people with the Pro Design kit how they like it?
