Well here's the deal-I have a 465 stroker with everything exhaust 450r carb. and I was running a stock airbox with a 48pilot and a 175main with the needle in the middle. It took me FOREVER to get it dialed in with the jetting, I decided to take the lid off one day and WOW what a difference.

So I went out and bought a oversized racing aluminum airbox with KN cover and threw it on. All it did was pop and backfire on decel. So I decided to bump up the pilot and that made the idle extremely fast and goofy so I moved the needle down one slot and the clip up. That straightened out the idle but all it does is backfire now. I tried a 200 main and a 50pilot and every position with the air screw..

I AM SO SICK OF TRYING TO JET THIS THING!!! I GEUSS I AM TAKING IT TO THE HONDA STEALERSHIP AND LETTING THEM DEAL WITH IT, UNLESS SOMEONE HAS ANY REAL GOOD SUGGESTIONS....

Take it to a local engine builder or motorcycle shop that has a dyno have them tune it on the dyno. This way is much better and cheaper you should be done under $200 and have perfect jetting. I got mine done for $160

X2, take it to someone with a dyno to tune it.

Hey hyper where in orlando area does the dyno tuning?

My local Honda dealer has a dyno. $35 for 3 runs just tune it yourself in the parking lot or pay them $65 an hour and they dyno it and dial it in but I bet they take more than an hour just because they can. Action Honda in Hudson, FL does it. I checked around the whole state for Quad dyno's and I had a whole list saved somewhere. No one could beat the price at the Honda dealer though.

Taking it to a dyno is the best thing you can do but i would mess around and get it so that it will at least rev out before you go just to save some time. Also when you said that you "dropped the needle down and the clip up", that will lean it out. You should have raised the needle up by lowering the clip if you felt you were lean which it seems like you are. With that big of an engine you may want to think about the HRC needle for that also.

if you go to dynojets website, they have a list of companies that have their dynos.
