I am looking at buying a leftover 2007 Outlaw 525 IRS. What changes did they make to the 2008? Also I have read that the inside of the rear wheels hit something. Is this true? Are there any other problems with these quads if you don't beat the hell out of them.

Thanks in advance, Greg

The wheel bearings are better in the 08
there is no black in 08
comes with fox shocks instead of ryde fx

there are little casting nubs on the bottom of the rear lower control arms
grind them off with a hand held grinder and your good

you have to rejet it right away

theres probably more but it not much anyway
I have an 07 and love it

The main differences is the seat changed on the 08 and the color. It also depends on wht production time the 07 was made. They had changes throughtout production.

I think the seat latch system was upgraded on the 08's.

Yes, this is correct.

One of the biggies, early 07 had rear end bushings, late production 07 had needle bearings. Also if you get a 07, make sure the sprocket and fuel tank recalls are done.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think those with the new needle bearing setups are still having the rubbing problem, correct? I thought I read on here or over at predatorowners that the rim rubbing problem is still an issue on the new IRS' as well?

rims are rubbing still, the bushings did not fix it. I do not think it is anything to worry about though. The 09 has 10" wheels on the rear. I wonder if they will rub.

I know I am running a 10" rear rim with my sand paddles and there is absolutely NO RUBBING. I would imagine the new 09 wheels will be rub free.

needle bearings did not cure rubbing 100 percent, but about 95 percent better.:p
