def. get a rear spring. i ended getting one off ebay for dirt cheap. that helped so much by itself. and get a big bore kit

if you looking for cheap, just put some upgraded springs in the front, and +1 legs. For the back, get an aftermarket shock and you will be able to hit some jumps. I have an elka for sale if your interested. go to planetminis.com, there is some great info for you there on pretty much anything. If you want a cheap bore kit, dratv.com has some cheap 88 kits.

id probably be interested in the elka depending on price. whats the best 88 kit for the money? how much would i be looking at spending if i bought moderate suspension, moderate motor work and all that stuff?

theres alot of 88 kits out there and there all probly good

but i like trail bikes, good quality parts at good prices.

http://www.hondatrailbikes.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=52_53&products_id=705

i also recommend puttin in a manual clutch.

trail bikes offers just about anything

Don't buy any knock-off crap, and keep a honda motor in it.

How much you looking to spend? If you can afford it get Sano everything IMO.

Here is one of mine I just sold. Had +1 legs and springs, +1 swinger, Works rear shock, big bars, IMS footpegs, tall seat, TB 88cc kit with bigger carb, TB rev box, Pro circuit exhaust, skid plate. I was on a budget because I didn't want to spend alot on a 50 though.

My stock one I built and painted from spare parts laying around. I think I have like $100 in this one.

My first one I ever had that got stolen. Police found it a year later, check out the next pic for how it was returned.

does an xr70 have a 12 or 14 inch front wheel? because i searched on google and on a few other forums people were talking about doing an xr70 front end(forks, tires, wheel, triple tree)

70 is 14 front i think and 12 back...i had a 70 ...i liked it way more than a 50, put a 108 kit in it do some other stuff way more fun

for the front end, I would go with bbr sp-5's you can get them used for about 200 ish. They are basically an xr70 fork, with better internals. Else, get the Sano +1 legs and spring kit. They have it on their website. For the rear, an xr 70 swingarm will bolt right up, and it is +2. it will work with any regular after market shock, or get a +2 swinger.

Stay away from 50 caliber on ebay. They make junk!!! There have been cases of the forks literally falling apart over jumps.

My shock I am asking 175 for, but elka is top of the line for pitbike shocks. I shocks are cheaper, but the shafts have been known to snap on them.

My advice is to go with what you can afford, it is an addiction just like quads lol.
