saw this on another forum, and thought i would share and see what all you have found on google maps that is weird/cool.
okay, you might need to print these directions, but this is so cool. i like to mess around on google maps and see what i can find that's cool to look at. this is one of the coolest yet, and yahoo maps can't get in close enough. here's how to get there:
1. start off on maps (not satellite or terrain) and go to asia
2. find india
3. nepal is just northeast of india; go to the farthest west border of nepal
4. go about 250 miles straight north of that into china (western corner of tibet) and you'll see a city called ga'er.
5. close in on ga'er and switch over to satellite.
6. in the middlish to the right, there's some kind of huge temple grounds ro something that looks like a giant black circle with a 16-pointed star. it is awesome. compare it to the size of the cars around it.
7. but wait, back up a little and go to the western side of the city and look about 200 feet in the desert and there is a giant star in a circle in the sand.
just thought that was cool. i tried to research it and find out what it is, but no luck. probably won't find much since it's tibet.
and here are two things, the first a plane crash in russia and the second has 3 different quality of the pictures
