I have a 2006 Polaris Outlaw 500. Tires are done, any suggestions on new tires. I do a lot of trail riding and hare scrambles everynow and then. I looked at the Holeshot H-D but I hear they have weak side walls.

that's what everyone says about the maxxis razrs. I think I am going to get em, just so everyone knows, cuz I've had trouble finding a great deal on em online, I know the manager of the biggest powersports place in New england, an he said I could get stock sized razr 2's 6 ply for 350 for all 4. But, the rears are..... bigger. Stock is..... 20x10x9, an I think the maxxis is a 20x11x9?

as soon as I wear mine out I think I'm going with a set of Kendas. partly because they can be had for a great price and part because I liked the way they've worked for me in the past.

I'm looking at the Klaws for use on trails, MX, and whatever.
I had the gnardly's on my 400ex and they were a great trail tire.

I am running the iRazr rears on my 525 and really like them. They slide very well on the outlaw and have great forward bite! I really like the Klaws too, I ran them on my Z400 and have nothing but good stuff to say about them. The wear on the Klaw is great; they last forever!

RAzr2s are great for mud but bite too much cornering.

I had the Irazrs on my first IRS but do not remember anything but they wore fast.

I just got a set of razrs to try out. I have been told these are the tires to run for racing.

A stiffer sway bar helps also. Gallagher (also on HMF site) sells one and so does Rath.

Love the razrs. Got Knarlys also on the scrammy. They are a heavier tire.

My tires are about done as well. I think i am going to go with the holeshot gncc series tire lighter then the maxxis and 6 ply o and plus they are a little cheaper but ive seen a lot of ppl running maxxis.

don't worry about the middle number it is the width of the top of the tire and 11 will work fine. Also for most applications regular razrs work better than razr 2's they are a lot heavier and do not hook up on hard pack at all.

Weak sidewalls on Holeshot HD's? :eek2:
Just the opposite, I think.
I had a full set on my 400EX and for riding on rocky trails they were awesome. But, for hill climbing or anywhere in which you needed traction, they were horrible. I tried everything from 3psi up into the teens and could never get any good traction out of them.
They also slid easily through turns due to the hard rubber compound.
I also immediately noticed the extra weight of a 6 ply. My quad was slower because of them.

I switched to Kenda Klaws and while I had the quad, never regretted that decision for a second.

I am with Jeff on this one. The best combination I have found for the IRS Outlaw is RAZR 2 in the front and 6 ply RAZR in the back. The RAZR 2 had too much side bite for my likings on the back.
