Cam chain adjusting

Is there a way to adjust the cam chain or tensioners without taking apart the motor?

The tensioner for the cam is spring load to where it adjust automaticaly. The tensioner is on the back, right side of the motor and is held on with 2 bolts. Chances are that if the chain is loose you need a new one.
