The next two Saturdays, November 1 and November 8, there will be an open flat track practice at Crooked Creek Speedway near Little Rock, AR. The track opens at 9 AM and cost is $10 per quad. Racing will be on November 15 with details to follow.

The track is owned by Paul Covert. He's a flatrack motorcycle racer that purchased the property where Optimus Park (go cart track) was a few years back. He's not looking to have huge races with a bunch of pro riders, but instead wants to have a good youth turnout and some amateur adults. The racing surface is still red clay and very smooth. There were a few of us there last Saturday and the racing surface was simply awesome. Paul is working very hard to make sure the youth TT and flat track classes have a place to race in central Arkansas.

The most appropriate thing to say about racing at Crooked Creek Speedway yesterday is WOW! Paul had the track surface in awesome condition for 3 and 4 wide racing, the EMTs were friendly (and thankfully not needed), and the volunteer staff did a good job of keeping the racers in line. The entire Hobson family was smiling all day long. In fact, I don't know of anyone that was there that didn't have a good time. If you've been thinking about trying out flat track racing, don't miss out on the next event at Crooked Creek Speedway!
