i heard some people talking about a sparks advance timing key and they say there go for cheap. what is the price on them? will it add me a lot more power to my stock motor? where can i pick one up? and another question i removed my choke today i pretty sure i did it right i took the two little screws on the flappy thing on in side of the carb the thing when you pull the choke up it closes. And i took the choke lever off anything else i have to do?

sparks key is 20$ about. willgive you seat of the pants feel in power, not much on a dyno. choke mod with out jetting, good luck starting in cold weather. 42 pilot and a few sizes up on the main will be golden with out choke.

it adds better throttle response

slightly slightly increase in throttle response, less blockage in the carb, if you dont need it, why have it?

exactly. I didnt think it was a slight increase in throttle response tough I find it noticable. I can ride other 400's hit the gas and I just dont feel that power. I would always win races vs other stock 400's too even switching riders my quad stock just the choke removed would win. I didnt know it until I started wondering why my choke lever was missing and it was blocked off so I looked and then took a look and a 42 pilot was already in there. With the throttle response I have now other 400's dont seem to get up and go it feels weird after being used to the power coming so soon

a hose, clamp and stuff the hose with a screw or something, just make sure its completely air tight and will not fall off if given hell. you will have sporatic idling if it falls off. and always the fear of sucking in dirt and bye by valves and rings. hello 500$ tear down lol

I am amazed at how it makes a difference. It doesnt make the quad crazy and insane like fast but it does have a noticable upperhand against other stock machines. I know what a cam feels like and its real nice when a higher compression piston is added with it. I know what a 440 big bore, 440 stroker, and a modded out YFZ feels like too. Cam doesnt give it throttle response though and it isnt free. To change something for the better by just removing a few screws or taking the lid off your air box it is surprising.
