There's the Missile kit. I don't know much about it other that what these pics show. But surely the last of those kits where made years ago. Craigslist, ebay, and various forums are how I'd try and find such a thing.

I'm sure there's a few survivors out there. Finding one worth buying might take time though.

I met a guy who put a YZ426 in a Yamaha BW350. It was sort of a four stroke, Yamaha version of the 250r pictured above. I believe he did all the fab work himself. It was pretty cool.

I'm curious why you want that type of machine? If it's just for the sake of all things wicked and wild--I'm with ya'. But depending on what you're gonna use it for, I gotta believe there are some awfully good (or even blatantly superior) alternatives. I mean, I'm looking at that Missile kit 250r above and wondering how it's better than an actual dirt bike, a 3 wheeled 250r, a Fat Cat, BW350/200....all kinds of stuff. Except for the uniqueness of the thing, I don't see what it's got going for it. Am I missing something?

There was one on eBay a few weeks back. I don't see how that thing is ahead of a CR250 with a paddle tire... I once had a Yamaha BW200 for the wife and it handled farily awful. I can't imagine the same set up with more power. LOL.

I'm wondering about the stability at speed.

The gyroscoping effect of the wheels is a major factor in the stability of a dirtbike, but it requires the wheels to be constructed as dirtbike wheels are: thin, with the mass located on the outer edge.

ATV wheels are very different. They are smaller, and wider. The gyro effect is there, but it's not nearly as large. I wonder if it's as stable as a dirtbike when you get to higher speeds.

yeah i just want to try something wild and different! i have a cr125, atc250r, trx250r and a banshee. My brother has a rage racing built 450r and a Dr. Q built quadzilla. This would top off our collection of awsome bikes!

It was called the Astro conversion kit. I have the mag test of that kit in the late 80's... looked horrible. front end from an LT250 and the rear end from the ATC. Don't think it handle worth a crap either.

I'm pretty sure the owner has these 2 wheeler Missile kits in stock or will still make them for you, upon request. Maier made the plastic for these kits if memory serves me.
Give them a call in Iowa. I think the price for the kit has gone up to around a grand, but don't quote me.
I'd like to do one some day!http://www.dehnerwelding.com/Missile.html http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp334/k10seibel/missile.jpg
