i just got my 416 kit got put in. a 11:1 high comprison piston, wint a heavy duty timming chain, and a hot cam stage 1. so we got it all put back together today, and everything hooked up right (at least we thought) and all it dose is turn over and turn over. like it would with no spark plug in it. It is getting spark (we checked) checked and re checked the wiring.
maybe jet???
let me know what you think!
thanks you can pm me or reply to post
or even email me

my first guess would prolly be to check your timing, it may have got off when you put in your new cam. it would at least fire if it was the wrong jetting.

you have a ghost spark, cams in backwards.

Yeah either its timed wrong or you didnt adjust the valves when you put the cam in.

Make sure your decompression is either all in or all out, if there is a lobe on the cam you need to have the spring and pin in..

check timing and valve lash, have you compression tested it?

yessir. if it's turning over like there's no plug in it, the valves are opening at the wrong time.. so there's no compression. incorrect valve lash alone wouldn't do that to that extreme.

Yes it would. If the valves arent fully closed, it will do the exact same thing.

Yes that is correct timing could be the issue, but incorrect valve lash will do this also, not letting them fully close ever, which in return means no compression. Trust me i just had this problem with a 660 last week. The valves were not set right and would never close, so we had no compression. All i did was set the valves and boom it started right up.
