how do i check to see if gears are in correct? can i just spin the new shift drum?

i appreciate any pics if you have them. thanks mechanic in training:cool:

well i figured it out ! left fork goes on bottom of shift drum, right fork on top shift drum and center on center:scary:

on the center fork it kinda jst goes down to bottom naturally:rolleyes: my fault. it was easy after i used my brain:D :muscle:

If you dont have a service book then I would suggest getting one. It explains with detail and pictures how to put everything back together. I had to do my tranny on my 06 and it made it sooo much easier.

i have the book . i would never do anything without it!

its still a little vague on some stuff but usually right on!!

no im not doing the mod. i am gonna rip my [2] 450's apart every season and check all the gears and replace as neccasary, they are cheap and if they cant last a yr i just would be amazed.
its def a great mod and i might try it in the future when im to lazy to do the work.

its not really that hard. i bought all the special gear holders and stuff and im damn happy i did it made life alot easier:macho
