Crawfordsville, IN (10/24/2008) - After another exciting year of GNCC ATV Racing, the season finale at the Ironman will conclude the 2008 racing season on Saturday. Several championship have already been decided with Yamaha's Bill Ballance (XC1) & Donald Ockerman (XC2) already wrapping up the championship and many other classes have also been wrapped up as well, but there are a few battles that will come down to the final round, and the most exciting will be between Traci Cecco & Angel Atwell as they fight for the class championship.

Also, KTM's XC1 Bike Champion, David Knight, will be competing on a KTM 525XC in the ATV Pro Class, which will be exciting to see how well he does on four wheels because he is a dominate force on 2 wheels.

Unfortunately, it rained into the morning on Friday, and it is raining again Friday night, so the morning races will be brutal for both racers and fans.

With the GBC Motorsports Heartland Challenge Race just 2 weeks away, Michael Swift already has his Can-Am Outlander ready for the 10 Hour race with $7,500 up for grabs for the winners in both the Pro Utility & Pro Sport ATV on Saturday November 8th.

4x4 Opens Bryan Buckhannon wraps up another win and gives his new light set up a thorough test before heading to Iowa in early November for the Heartland challenge event.

4x4 Lites Cliffton Beasley put the capper on a great season with a final round victory to carry him through the winter!

U2's Robert Smith is goint to be the man to watch in 2009 as he takes another class win!

The Ironman is aptly named, and this event is pretty demanding when the weather is good! The rain has it a mess, and with so many riders looking for one last shot to better their points for next season, the racing action is some of the best all season!

If Chris Borich can hold out for a win or a great finish, he could retain the #2 plate for 2009, dispelling those who viewed his early season finished as the end of him for this season!

Pappy
10-25-2008, 01:06 PM

I wanted to also say thank you to all those that support us and comment our work at the races. We wont be sitting around this winter doing nothing as I am sure you wont, so keep an eye on the site for some things that should be pretty cool as we continue working through the winter to promote the GNCC series and its riders. Round #1 isnt that far off and there is alot to do to get ready for it.

Please have a safe holiday season if we dont see each other at a local or at some of the events over the winter and god bless you all!

Hey Pappy, are we going to get a race report for the Ironman? Always like the story line that goes with the photos.

Its not looking like it. I wasnt there, and havent been told to do one beyond the pro report and amatuer reports which I have done and are on the home page.

Bummer. Thanks for all other great coverage you've done this year though. ;) I can't wait for next season. :)

We appreciate it. The Heartland Challenge has us scrambling to get caught up with work before leaving for Iowa to cover it, so racing isnt completely done for 08 for us.
