finally finished the beast up

well,after a solid year or working on this bike,its finally completed.i'd like to thank justin reed from jna racing(jrspawn) for all the help.could of never done it without all your help bro.also,i'd like to thank seth from sf racing for the shocks.mike walsh from walsh race craft for the great frame work he did.and last but not least,thank you tom carlson from tc racing for hooking me up with this beast of a motor.thing is sickening to hold on too.

as for the bike,it started out as a '01 walsh race craft 250r geometry hybrid frame.walsh cut and chopped it up and made it to the '08 specs.seth at sf racing took my old pep zps shocks which all three were trashed and turned them into brand spanking new pep zps shocks.and finally tc racing took my trashed yz426 motor,rebuilt the whole thing top to bottom and put a yz450 head onto it.when was all said and done,turned out to be a 455 monster.and trust me,its a monster.the whole bike from top to bottom has been rebuilt.everything has been powdered black by ICT powdercoating.all bushings,bearings and seals were all replaced during rebuild also.bike is 100% new.and i love it :devil:

Siiiik!!! the bike looks amazing, how exactly did TC get the 450 cylinder and head to fit on a 426 bottom end? i thought they didnt work with each other??

honestly i'm really not sure.i cant answer that one mccarlson1.motor talk is like jiberish to me.just dont understand half the stuff these motor dudes talk about.cant build a motor,but i can sure blow one up with the best of them though.anyways,he told me he had a yz450 head and piston at his shop that some local dirtbike dude never picked up from him and he wanted to try it and see how it works out.and trust me,it worked out damn good.thing is a monster.i'm a pretty strong dude and its a lot for me to hold onto.the power is there,whenever i need it..

what year bike is the head from? The yz450 heads and head covers look different and that looks like a 426, could be wrong though?

i take that back.talked to tom yesterday and he told me he used a 450 cylinder not head.and honestly,i didn't even ask what year it was from.i'll ask him what he exactlly used next time i speak to him.didn't mean to come across as an idiot.all this motor talk is jiberish to me.i'm no motor dude.i can just ride the hell outta them.and i'm no mechanic.thats what younger brothers are for.

I wasn't trying to quiz you or anything I was just curious, that explains it much better. Its not too hard to get a 450 cylinder on a 426.

the word on the street is its not hard at all.was told its alot safer n more reliable the punching the 426 cylinder out to a 450.boring the 426 out to a 450 can cause some problems since the sleeves are so thin.is that correct??

Yes that is correct, it gets hot and cracks. Your learning now its not all jiberish right? I didn't know much about working on em or what to do and stuff like that but if you just read forums and get a service book and don't be afraid to ask questions you can learn more than you would think in a relatively short amount of time.
