i run 5 to 8psi in all the tires, same in every tire, just depends on traction and track conditions

A lot of it can depend on what you weigh.

What I mean is that if you ask any pro rider what air pressure to run, they will probably look at you size and compare to themselves and tell you.
From my experience, 5psi is way to low, you should never run below 8-10
Reasons for correct tire psi and how to tell if you are using correct pressure are ,
if the tire rolls over too much, you not only loose traction, but you also risk tearing your sidewalls. The other is that if the tires are too low, when you land off a jump or go over bumps, the tires will compress all the way and your rim will be hitting the dirt, and that can cause, flats, bent rims, a bent axle, or even a broken axle.
Diff. tire also reqire diff. psi as well,

that is 100% right. best place to find out what you should run is cal the tire company or your shock builder.

well i got the idea after reading the review of Travis Spader in dirtwheels after his 2000 GNC win. I figured if he's running that PSI then something has to be goin right. Also like mentioned before..lowering PSI can give you better traction,,but is it worth bustin the bead, warping rims, or trashing a new tire? Not me..I dont' run beadlocks on my MX setup and I've never busted the tires bead,,but passed plenty of guys with champion beadlocks with flats..

dang thats real low i run about 7-9 in my rear holeshot(18x11x9)mx's that gives them enough traction while protecting the rim. the pressure all depends on what kind of soil i am riding on.

does anyone else have the problem with holshot mxs where no matter how much air you put in them the middle of the tire still dips in??in like a "u" shape? so the treads closest to the sidewall on both sides always wear out faster than the treads in the middle of the tire?? this happens to me no matter how much air i put in.

Scott I think it depends on a bunch of things, What type of riding MX, WOODS, the rider level your at. How much you weigh. There are so many factors and no real way I can tell you what's going to work best for you. So I would start around 7psi and go up or down what works for you! Good luck

I think that's a defect fleshwound...i say that because,,one of my rear tires are like you described and the other is the opposite,,makes ridin wheelies real hard cuz ya always veer ta one side..

yeah my buddy traded for some carbon fiber rims and the holeshots on them wore out like that too...
so i dont think it is a defect...unless they had a lot of them

I run 5psi in my 20in holeshots and in my stock front tires is this not enough. should I go higher. I have noticed after a couple races I had to reset the bead on my back tires.
