New guy here!

Hello all my name is Al. I picked up a 98 300EX from my buddy last fall for $250. Rode it all summer this year and I was wondering what sort of mods upgrades I can do to it to make it a little peppier. Mind you I really dont have to much that I can really put into it. And my credit isnt all that awesome so getting a newer quad just cant be done. It's bone stock. My other friend has a 350X trike and it's aggravating that I cant keep up. can sorta keep up but not too well. sorry about the long post but I am new to modding bikes. Thanks alot guys for any info you all could send my way.

In a straight line.. there's not much of anything you'll be able to do to a 300ex to keep up with an ATC350X. 2/3 the weight and 50% more power. I doubt my modded 330 would keep up. ;) ATC's are quick, lol.

Now, to make it a bit more peppy, an aftermarket pipe, aftermarket air filter (Uni/K&N), and a rejet of the carb will give you significant improvements over stock across the entire powerband.

Thanks I'll try anything at this point and yeah that 350x is damn fast. on a lighter note he's 265 lbs and i'm only 175. so that prolly slows him down a touch. :D
