525 auto decompress

any had the auto decompress break?

it
causes catastrophic engine damage
if anyone has hard starting probs with the525 or 450
that can be a sign the auto decom isnt working or its broke
the 2 polaris dealers in my area never heard of it and never had the special puller or cam chain link press i needed for the repair so i had to make them.what a joke .the tools needed cost more than the parts did.

I had the auto decomp. spring break in mine but it was still under warranty at the time. It was almost impossible to start after it had broken. Every once in a while you could get it to the right part of the stroke by bumping the quad and it would start. Fortunately the dealer was able to find all of the spring without tearing the motor down. I guess I got lucky or maybe I should say the dealer did. It's an '08 IRS.
