my outlaw started acting up in the mountains one day.hard starting,draging starter.like weak battery.
got the bike home,charged battery.no change.
so gave it valve set,there was no lash.should be because i did valve set 2 days b 4.set to 5 thou and the lock nuts were tight so it made me think so off the head came and sure enough the auto decompress lever broke for some unknown reason and piled the cam chain up .
i was so lucky the chain must have broke in my shop when i had battery charger on it.
the broken decom was riding on the head next to cam sprocket and must have fallen into crank sprocket when i stood the machine up to wash it.
only cost 500 to fix including starter i burned up starting it with no decom working.
the oil screens are a life saver. they caught all of the filings before they even hit the filter.
anyone else have the decom break?
