I am going to install a K&N air filter, FMF Factory 4 slip on, and a set of hot cams. Does anyone have any tips on where i should start setting the carb (stock) at first???

Here's mine.

Full FMF Ti-4 system, K&N Filter and Power lid and Old Style Hot CAMS
Stock Carb 150DJ main, 25 pilot, 2.25 turns Fuel screw, Alba Needle 3rd Clip. Elevation 1400'

The power lid restricts it a touch but worth it for me. Keeps the dust out of my airbox.

Well, with me running the old carb at 800ft elevation, this is what I had.
155 main jet(Mikuni)
25 Pilot(mikuni)
Needle third clip
Stage one Hot cams
K&n power lid w/uni filter
HMF s/o

It ran a tad rich, but being rich is better than being lean.

Got all apart, but cant seem to get any clearance from the stock cams, should i just go ahead with installing hot cams and just make sure those clearances are fine?

Did you set the engine to BTDC before taking it apart?

No. Not until your sure of what you are measuring. If all the clearances were 0 then the bike wouldn't run. You need to be sure your on the compression stroke TDC. The exhaust should face about 8:00 and the intake about 4:00 (or vica versa depending on which side your on). You should be able to run your feeler gauge between the lobe and the bucket. There is a tick mark under the flywheel inspection cover for TDC.

I got the arrow lined up with the line, not the "T". The measure thing is the thinnest one i have on the tool, it says .005, under that it says .127, under that it says MM (millimeter)

With the lobes pointing straight up, left exhaust was .009, right .010, left intake .005, right .007 Does this seem to be the right measurements??
