I am considering putting 450R stock take off shocks on my 250R for XC/trail riding. I know they fit but I would like some feedback on how well or not these shocks work off road in stock form. How about with the dual rate softer spring kit?

450r shocks suck on a 450r, puting them on a 250r doesn't help them. dual rate springs will help a little, but with the cost of the shocks and springs I'd find a used set of aftermarket shocks.

I bought a pair of 450r shocks and had them custom valved and sprung for my +2 a-arms and really like them on my 250r for xc / trail riding. I picked them up for a fair price and my shock guy treats me very well so they were a nice cost effective mod for me. They're very plush now, were on the stiff side before I had them worked over.

I race XC on my 250r and run 450r front shocks. Like stated above, mine are revalved/resprung. I got a good deal on them and after some dialing in and technical assistance from DirtWorks , they handle great and i am very happy
