Ok great I was looking at those....alot of money though. Do you think its worth getting for someone who doesn't race. I do ride alot of pretty tough trails and I'm thinking about doing a hair scramble.

You could pick up a stick stabilizer for $150 bucks......they do work! Saved my wrists multiple times this season, and will not run without one. Altough, with racing I do wish I had a Precision or an Elka.

The Precision, GPR and Elka cost an arm and a leg but they sure have saved my arms. If you only ride once a month and not too hard a stick stabilizer should work. Any more due your arm and wrists a favor and get a Precision, GPR or Elka

A precision will last forever and the resale is pretty good. They are well known to be the best. I bought one that was used through 2 people about 3-4 years old. I do not think it has ever been rebuilt and it is still great. My team mate and I may take it apart this winter and check it out. The linkage did wear, we replace all of ours on our team with a custom linkage that should last a whole lot longer with less maintenance than the precision linkage. PM me for the number to get one.

I had a hard time finding one for my 06 outlaw also, but I e-mailed these guys and this is what they said:
The Honda TRX400EX stabilizer will fit that model. The non rebuildable part
number is BTS-S51, and the rebuildable part number is BTS-RB51
Here is a link

Hope this helps

06 Outlaw 500 may have different diameter steering stem than the KTM powered Outlaws.
Alba says it's 31.8mm 450 & 525, but the guys at Billetanium say that the 06 uses the same as a 400ex which is apparently 28.6mm according to Alba.:ermm:

So who has a micrometer??

Well, I was just out in the garage, happened upon a micrometer and measured the diameter of the stem.

Turns out that the 06 Outlaw measures 31.8mm. Now you know;)

They should come with instructions,,,,but,,,,one end mounts to something immovable, like somewhere on the frame, the other end clamps around the steering stem. Every one I have put on was a PIA. Things are tight and hard to get to and it may take a few tries to get it to operate without any binding.
With that said, it was probably the best $150 I ever spent on any of my Quads.
