Im gonna be getting a new front end for my YFZ next year and i was wondering should i buy Elka shocks or Fox shocks. I will probly be using JB or Leager a-arms. so let me know what you personally like.

Thanks for any info.

PEP i'd say. though id say top 3 in order are
Custom Axis
PEP
Fox

I'd say it would be tough to go wrong with any of the top suspension companies. Fox Floats would be awesome, and Custom Axis definately makes good products. Axis now has a "float" style shock of their own.

FOX without a doubt over Elka. I've ridden them both and there is really no comparison.

elka has good components....valving does not really match.

Exactly!! Elka mass produces their shocks and the valving suffers from the factory.

Fox Floats front and Podium rear for sure.

Best value for a top notch shock. Easy and cheap to rebuild and tune.

PEP/Axis/Elka are only good (for the long run) if you have a top notch tuner in your back pocket.

And we have had Elka's and Pep's before.

Our Floats are going on their 3rd year of MX racing, with only 1 minor problem, and that was a mechanic error.

haha, COMPLETELY AGREE! i'd run Fox Floats in the front, Axis or PEP rear.

Don't get me wrong, man, I am not saying that I don't like elkas. I have elkas on my quad and I really like them, but as I stated, they are mass produced and the valving is not as precise as it should be.

Duhh. that is easy.

Fox float Evol hands down in the front.

Now the rear could be a tossup. The fox rear is nothing special but probaly better built than the Elka.:)

get the fox or axis floats on the front. they weigh less than a conventional coil over shock and they can be smoother. you will need to adjust them a lil more for different outside air temps to keep them perfect but they are better. if you want a conventional shock get sum 8 click peps.
