My 04 got me 3 times this weekend, i don't think my ankle can take much more. The valves are adjusted and it runs good so i assume the jetting is right. Is it most likely that i am holding the throttle open or is there something out of adjustment? I am ready to sell this thing and get a new ER but they have issues too.
Any ideas, thanks all

You are probably holding the throttle open.

mine is 13:8:1 and back kicks every once in a while but not hard enough to bust me off the quad or anything,

Sounds like it needs a decomp adjustment. Mines off and nails my lower leg every so often.

dont touch the throttle when starting thats what causes the kick back

if you have to hold the gas to start it your pilot might be off... my intake valve in the carb was bad and that was what causing mine to do it.

i have never got kick-back unless i was giving it gas a little. pretty nasty when it happens though. feels like my ankle was broken for a few minutes.
