replaced the battery earlier this summer, and it's slowly gotten slower and slower to start until it wouldn't anymore; i am assuming whatever charges the battery is inoperative.

what is it, where is it, how much teardown to get to it, where can i find a new one, and how much.

lol. :D

I bought my charger at wal-mart for like $20 and it works great

It's on the left side, you'll have to remove l/s case cover, diconnect the wires, remove the bolts from stator, remove clamp that holds pulse gen. wire to the case, remove the rubber grommet from the case,it should all come out together. Also check to make sure the pulse generator wire isn't broken. The stator runs 180.00-200.00

I wouldn't replace anything until you were sure that was it, I know if you don't follow all the instructions when you first get the battery it will not last long at all. also some rev boxes can wear on the battery faster.

my battery from night riding i left my lights on without the quad running because id wake my friends kid up at like 2:00 in the morning if i started it. so the lights on on to get fire wood and then saturday I go to turn it on and start it just a big uhhh ohhh. It was so close to dying it just slowly kicked over and over and i just kept getting a stumble. throttle it up a bit to start it and let it run for 10 minutes the battery was like new.

the battery i got said it was ready to go out of the box, no charging required. my last battery slowly got less cranking ability and i just assumed it needed replaced; like i said, this one has done the same thing.

but at $200, i think i'll just trickle charge the battery every so often. :eek2:

I use a battery tender. Just leave it plugged in all the time and it keeps the battery fresh. I think it was under 35 bucks

I would buy a manuel and start testing your electrical componants,to get a idea what's going on.
