So I am tired of crappy speakers on my HP notebook and I think its time to upgrade. I saw quite a few sets over at Circuit City that were a three piece set. I think it was 15w? I wanna have something that can have the ability to punch, but i would only have it like that occasionally. I just wanna get set that creates a nice sound and mood. Let me know what you guys are workign with and if you guys have 5.1 how do you like that? I am trying to keep it under $100. The reason for all of the speakers is that I just recently purchased a tv tuner card for my notebook and now i get HD tv, and would like to be able to compliment the tv with some nice sound.

I just bought the logitech x-530 5.1 6 speaker system its for either or PC or TV comes with an adapter and it sounds really nice. If I turn it up just past half you can hear it clearly on the otherside of my house. If you want to go really high end my friend just bought a 505watt system for his PC. Thats loud enough for your neighbors to hear it clearly lol Its the logitech z5500 5.1 6 speaker. The speakers arent that big ut man do they sound good and put out a lot. It even has a thing that can go to the next song, tells you what track its on, and a remote to control it all. Check out the stuff on Newegg.com

When i got my computer a year or two ago i got some dell speakers with it, its the 5 speaker and a sub. And the speakers are probably as big as a flashlight and the sound is perfectly clear even at full volume, plus the sub hits pretty freakin hard for as little as it is.

I bought a Phillips 38w 2 speaker system with a sub at good old Wal Mart for $40. Nothing special, but the sound is clear and the sub is more than enough to piss the girls on the floor below me off.

Logitech can give you some really good quality for a good price, I'd look into them. I couldn't tell you which ones to get though.

I have the Logitech Z-5500. Great surround sound system!!! I recommend it!

Also, make sure your sound card can handle the system you buy. Creative makes nice cards.
Use www.newegg.com to browse around.

I'm rockin the older model Logitech Z-5500. You can't go worng with 5.1. Also, your best bet it to just buy a new sound card. Easy as cake to intall and definitely worth it.

i'd rather not buy a new sound card. My HP laptop has been running great for the past year and i need the money for more important things.....like college parties and food.....the speakers are already gonna break my pocket.
