Coil Resistor Removal

I was wondering if anyone has done the resistor removal mod to their spark plug cap, and with what results. I was reading on Thumpertalk.com several guys doing this to their XR's and getting a hotter spark. Thanks

about 1 year ago I was testing my spark and noticed how weak it looked and thought I could make a better plug wire than that and so i took a MSD coil wire 8 mm , and put ends on it and WOW what a spark. cant say if I recomend it because I dont know why honda uses them for I posted the same question you did but got no reply so here is my 2 cents ,by the way my ex is still running good.
