oil cooler???????????

ive heard ppl mentioning an oil cooler on the 450r and it sounds like they were saying its only on the 04-05, is this true and y is this

i never heard of that before, i just thought they only have the radiator. if someone could clear the water about this subject for me it would be greatly appreciated. thanx ahead of time

stock the 04-05 450rs come with both a radiator and a oil cooler in front of the rad. then the 06+ only have a larger radiator to compensate for the lack of a oil cooler, if you wanted to get one, they make aftermarket oil coolers.

ic ic so how much better of an advantage is it to have one how much does it affect performance if u do or dont have one

i really dont think that you would see any performance increase, but i think that you would get longer life out of your oil. and it will probably give your engine more reliability. my 450 quads are 05's so they have them, and my 450 bike doesnt have one. so i really havent experimented with one of the oil coolers.
