First off, I want to say sorry I had forgotten whose quad this is, that I had used.

Ok, so as I was searching every picture thread, every rebuild thread, ect. looking for a style that I liked to mimick for my own when I found this:

I like it, but it needed some things. So, I saved it, and edited using the GIMP program and I came up with this:

What do you guys think? The only things that I am going to do differently is a stock Honda seat cover (that says "Honda"), Razr 6ply rears and Razr2 fronts and full fenders. Do you like it? I really do! (The nerfs and bumper I drew on are Pro Armor Race Pegs and Bull Horn bumper)

If I had the money, I would mimick this beautiful beast.. but I don't have $,$$$'$ But I think this is the nicest on the site:

Where can i get a set of those red side fenders? and do they fit with the stock fronts?

they were off of my 450r and re-valved for it. i am now running them with +1 houser a-0arms and to be honest, i have not spent a whole lot of time on this combo...but it feels ok...i think i still need to play with some of the adjustments on them.

klutch, what red side fenders are you talking about?

The first pic in the thread. That 400ex has red side fenders instead of oem black, but stock looking front...

those could possibly be maiers that were made to work with the fronts...maier now makes a one piece front that don't need the side panels

I'm not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure that that clarke oversize tank replaces the side panels so the red is actually a part of the gas tank.

Maier does make red side panels but the say they'll only work with Maier fronts, although they could possibly be modified.

now that you mention it...i think it is the clarke tank...i wasn't paying attention to that

yyeeuuupp! Its a Clarke 5.5 gal tank.. I love the look of it!

speedyquad: I didn't take the picture, but your right, cleaner is ALWAYS better, and nicer!

Oh.. well it all depends on how you put it.. it is kind of like a talent.. some look beautiful all stickered up.. some.. not as much. Also, when you have stickers its a pain when you go to wash it with the powerwasher because some use a cheep adheasive and fly off..

PS: im getting rid of the flame seat, i didnt put that on there, im going with a seat cover with green on the sides and black down the middle.

it is a kit, i won't say where i got it as i didn't have a good experience with the guy and i won't advertise for him

just go to a sticker shop with that picture of the white 400ex and say you want that sticker and give him the sie about mesured from your quad you no. they can custom make anything i owuldnt doubt he got that one custom made because i havent seen a honda sticker that big until now.

nope not custom made...but i do want to remain unique...

and seriously...it can't be that hard to find...that graphics kit came from the same place as what i had on my previous 400ex and my wifes 300ex...i'll post some pics of those in the morn...i have even purchased 3 seat covers from the place...

I have messed with gimp a little... very little.

It's cool how you were able to do the wheels and head pipe.
Is that from an additional feature gimp has over paint?



Anyways, I like the tank/smooth sides.

But I do not care for that fender cut, and I'm not into all the black.
Sometimes the black looks ok to me, but it isn't practical.

Satin black or flat black is practical for something that must be painted/powdered, but for aluminum and stainless... well it just doesn't make sense to me. I want as little paint/powder on a quad as I can get... less to get scratched/chipped and need attention.
