Anybody tried one of these instead of the k&n?? I have used them on cars and like them a lot more cause they don't require any oil. So much easier to clean.

I've used them on cars before, esp ones with MAF sensors really close to the filter. The K&N oil can damage the sensor if over oiled. Never thought to try one on the quad though... Hmm.

I haven't heard of anybody using them on a quad yet either and they seem like they would be much easier to clean I just wonder how good they hold up on a quad and if they filter and breath as good as a k&n.

For street use, they filter as good as a K&N, but i don't know what mud/water/etc would do to it... I know it is still a gauze filter, so it wouldn't get ruined, but without the oil, it might not filter as well when wet. Why don't you call up AEM's tech line and ask them. Worst they can tell you is "we don't recommend them for that application" or some other BS.
