I have a few questions about motor work. I've tried to search for some info but I haven't found anything. We where thinking of going with either a 416 or 416 depending on what is acutally done to the motor. The compression we were thinking is 11:1. My dad was wondering if there is anything that has to be done the with the valves to run 11:1.

Valves dont have to be changed for either but to run a 426 you have to get a different sleeve.

Alright that's good to hear. I'm sure he had more questions so I'll post them up.
Thanks

valves are fine, you can of course do the head up for more power, but stock is fine.

ive been running a 440 for 2 years in a 99 EX. stock valvtrain/head no issues what so ever

Alright here's another question. Is they anyway of knowing what kind/brand of cam is in it without setting it up against a stocker like markings or something?

There may be a number that you got get off the cam then call a manufacturer and give them the part number. Some may even be able to tell you if it is from another company.
