i think that honda is being smart and holding off to see what the others come out with. i think they will bring significant changes in 2010. thats just what i am thinking. it would only make sense. anybody feel this way too?

"its a bold strategy cotton, lets see if it pays off" lol I do think its smart. Other have done that in the past so they know what they have to do to beat them. If Honda comes out with something extrodanary the other companies arent going to change their brand new or year old model to beat them. But if Honda doesnt take advantage of already knowing the competition then someone needs to be replaced in that company. All you can do is hope for the best. I think the 700xx was the 1st guinea pig to have EFI, then the CRF450r to see how it works on the 450. I would probally place money on the 2010 TRX450r having EFI. They already have a solid quad so its not like they need to update a ton. I would like to see a MX version though.

I'm pretty sure you will see EFI, but as far as an MX version????? Don't hold your breath......... After spending all day Sat riding KTM's, do yourself a favor and buy orange.... Trust me on that.....

If honda has to go EFI, I hope it works right the first year it comes out. So far I think the kfx and ltr had problems with it. My buddies 08 kfx had nothing but expensive problems with it so far.

The '09 CRF450R is all new this year and it has EFI. I fully expect it to be outstanding. We'll see.

Since it appears that the CRF450R has a completely new engine (with the EFI), I would expect that would land in the '10 TRX450R. That is why I would not consider getting a another 450R until 2010.

Just my two cents...

what are they waiting for, they have been behind since 04. honda needs to step it up and come out with something bad ***. They used to be the lightest, fastest ( track wise) and have the lowest seat height and were the best looking and handled the best of all the quads out there. Now there one of the heaviest, tallest, and slowest and ugliest. Dont get me wrong, im about to buy a 450r and im a total honda fan , im just disapointed in them. It seems like yamaha trys to make what the people want.

i think suzuki and ktm make what the people want.....im strictly honda though......i like honda because of the engines, but i also like to BUILD MY BIKE HOW I WANT IT. But, on the other hand, i also have 17 thousand dollars invested in my quad, and it defientley wont hold its value...as far as honda, they will hopefully, as i said HOPEFULLY come out with somthing that will blow the doors off the competition...

I wouldn't hold your breath. And everybody is running out of 05's to race so not sure what they are going to do with all the broken trannies etc........

In a recent dirtwheels they had a leaked picture of an aluminum frame yz450 that was like 49 inches wide up front. Looked race ready to go. The pictures were supposed to have been leaked by a yamaha employee?

What would be nice to see is a barebones version for racers. They could really cut the price down if they would make a racer version with crap shocks not fit for a 250ex, junk handle bars, cheap wheels, etc...I am just going to trash can those items anyways.

i understand from a friend who is a honda tech that honda releases every 5 years. so 2010 should be entirely different.

i will wait for 2011 so the bugs are worked out

The YFZ450R has been released for a while now.
