View Full Version : how many threads should there be...

on my brothers 400ex with roll design lt a-arms and elka shocks. how many threads should there be from the spindle heim joint into the actual upper a-arm? my setup it looks way to wide and doesnt look right. thanks for the help.

Mine are threaded pretty much all the way in. I have just enough thread showing to allow the lock nut to clamp down properly. I found that my front tires were too straight up and down and didn't have enough negative camber so I set the heims up this way.

I can take a picture if you want, let me know ;)

ok so what if your frame is tweaked? what if the a arms are a tad off? you cant just run them all the way in/out. take a framing square set it on the ground against wheel and measure in with a tape.

ive put on a some front ends and learned this from a legendary shock man. even brand new frames arent strait.
