Even tho i'm not a yamaha guy, I would recommend a wolverine, they are 4x4, faster than many otheres, u can get em to wheelie, and they have a manual trans with auto clutch or a foreman 400s.
JMO.

hondaextreme -- the are the warrior look a likes. my riding buddy had one. those things are surprisingly fast and you cant go wrong with 4 wheel drive. get some nice aggressive tires and a lift kit and they are unstoppable. not too bad of a price tag either.

Rancher or Sportsman 700

12-11-2002, 08:24 PM
the 700 blows the 500 was a ton of fun tho, the 700 is bigger, heavier, more sluggish and rougher suspension

Forget about 350cc to 400cc range! Get a Priarie 650, there awsome.
But if you must the smaller Prairie or Rancher.

Ok, Honestly, I've ridden almost every 4x4 out right now, and the only ones I really liked were the Wolverine and Rancher.
The Rancher is bullet proof, Fairly sporty, Feels alot lighter and acclerates much quicker than the 450.
The wolverine works pretty damn good, very sporty, many upgrades available, Fairly reliable (Not close to the rancher though), Tons of pep and decent suspension.

see even though he wants a utility i think it would still be nice for it to be kinda sporty. i know he wants racks though at least a back. i think it would also be a plus for at least a semi auto tranny. what kind of upgrades does a wolverine have.

For more sporty of a 4x4 go for the Wolverine, or the TRX350 4x4, I like the foot shift better than the ES, its not as responsive as foot shift. I have a TRX 300 and I love it, a Wolverine woudl be fun too.

yeah from what it seems the wolverine would be the best.

A Rancher is prob one of the best sport/utilitys out there. Theres like a million of kinds on them. So im sure theres one thats perfact for him. Get 2wd 4wd switch! He wont regret it!

I would say a Wolverine or a Rancher es ....the wolverine is very quick for a utility, and the rancher isnt that bad either..one of my friends has a rancher and it is faster than most 4x4's....if he wants something to play and do a lil bit of work the wolverine is good....but to work and still be able to play the rancher would be good too.
