I just notice that I have side to side play in the crank should this be normal or are the main crank bearing bad any help would be nice

is the crank itself moving or just the rod? if you need parts pm me.

no i have it all apart becasue my quad needs a rebuild and if you take the part of the crank that conects to the piston you can move it side to side

The part that connects to the piston is the connecting rod. It sounds like you need to replace the rod bearings, but if you have the cases split you might as well at least check the main crank bearings.
