Will an 09 gas tank fit on my 06?

Does anybody know yet? I would like to put a red tank on my bike.

If not, where can I buy the perforated vinyl to put on my stock tank in plain red?

They changed the tank on the 09 from the 08????? ive saw 08 tanks on older ones and the 08s had a red tank so i know that will work.

My buddies are going through this right now, trying to fit an 06 tank on a 08. I'm pretty sure he had to find a set of 06 mounts because the 08 mounts were bigger to accomodate for the smaller tank on the 08.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think this is what they had to do.

The mounting is different on the 08-09. I noticed this taking my 08 apart compared to my 07. You'll have to get the front mounts, rear tabs that go on the rear of the tank, rear tank straps, and the two rubber gromets that are on the heat sheild are different as well.

Does anybody have the 08 front mounts for the tank. I need them for my project.

people are just buying the 08 tank covers and triming tabs.

sure helps the grafix kits stay on
