Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of doing a complete rebuild to my 400ex. I have been debating for a while which kind of quad to redoe for my website and the 400ex has got to me my favorite quad. I have had nothing but good memories with them. In the pas couple of weeks everything has been stripped down and the powdercoating is done so, I just have to wait on a few parts. Assembly will begin and I will update this thread as frequent as I do some work on it. It is going to be setup for mx with a blue/white color scheme. For the frame, it has candy blue translucent frame and subframe and bottom a-arms. I went with white for the swingarm and upper a-arms and this work was done by pappy. The parts look amazing. Here is a pic of the quad how I bought it.........

Here it is partially stripped. The swingarm bolt was bent on the inside and was stuck through the engine. It was a big pain in the ***. With help from the grinder and sawzall, it was cut into three pieces and I was finally able to get the frame disassembled.

It's in my buddy's shop getting tuned, it was running tooooooo lean. Acouple seals needed to be replaced on it, he's basically my mech. He works miricales my brother's 700 2 stroke snowmobile seized up, The bearing tore apart inside the crank LOL. We still can't believe he fixed it so well. But yeah my quads in good hands. Sorry I kinda hijacked the thread right here. Water seal and counter shaft were leaky. I still got a deal for an engine that puts out 55+ LOL

The previous owner was one hell of a butcher. That's pretty much exactly how I got it. I sold those baja type wheels and those bold tires were put on just too hold the bike up. Something about those bold tires, I just can't throw them away. Everybody who sees them gets a good laugh. I don't know how those nerf bars came to be but I straightened them nice. For the price and extras he threw in I can't complain.
I got the front end pretty much ready to bolt up, just need some new +2 tie rods. The front end will be adjustable PEP Quadrates on +2 Burgards a-arms that have been pc'd.
Thanks for looking,
Andrew
