Girlfriend has 05 TRX 400. Really nice quad because of me and this website. Precision stabilizer. 450 shocks revalved by GT Thunder. Really works good in the woods.

For Xmas, I want to get her Flexx bars. I have them on my bike and love them.

So I want to anticipate the problems. She has the ignition key and lights plastic cowling thing. Can anyone post pics of how they fabricated a dashboard to mount that stuff. Want it to look nice.

Also, assuming I go with stock stem will it be necessary to get longer cables? Hope not but I could see this as an issue since she will also need a big bar adapter which will rise the bar mount position.

Finally, any Flexx bar bends to recommend? She really likes the current height and sweep so I want to get as close as possible.

Thanks for your time.

Just look at their chart and that will give you the sweep etc.All you will needs is the bar mounts for it, longer cables wont be nessecary or needed.

I run a stock stem with bar adapters. All the cables are good.

My plastics are stock so my key and lights are in the factory spot.

I ran into a problem on my 07 ex with bar height. I bought the trail tech bar clamp with the plastic piece on the bottom to hold the lights and key switch, it really looks clean. It depends on what bend you go with. There inst much room for raising them up much. so you would have to consider that when picking a bend and a bar clamp that adds height.

you will need a clamp since the flexx bars are 1 1/8" bars...so i use the trail tech clamp with the dash...nice set up...

get an mx bend bar...it will keep the height about the same...if she has shorter arms, try the 15° bend...

i have the 14° atv bars, which are higher than stock with the trail tech clamp and the stock cables fit

Thanks for the info. I was not aware of the trail tech clamp/dash setup. Looks really oem. Thats what I am going to get.

I have the motorcycle height Flexx Bars on my 05 with a Trail Tech clamp with the plastic cover from Trail Tech which comes with the clamp.

You can kinda see the dash panel in this pic. The green neutral light is on.

Sweet. Lonestar you have a very nice looking quad.

Do you concur that I should be looking for MX bend? She wants bend/height to be about the same as the OEM.

She is not tall. About 5 ft 6 inches.

here is mine with the atv bend for comparison...
i got the 04/05 450r clamp and dash because i have a 2000 400ex which does not have a reverse light...

Thanks SteveWR450F

I think I would go with the motorcycle height with the 14 degree bend. I would have to go look and see what degree mine are but the 14's have more sweep. Mine are just about stock height and I am 6'1" and they are plenty high for me.
