Alright i started a new project today. New project is a 89 f150 short n wide. right now it has a 300 I6 in it with a 5 speed behind it. So far i've built a 302 thats bored .030 over with keith black flat top hypereutectic pistons, Isky cam with 280 duration and .478 lift, port and polished heads off of a 351, and an edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold. im guessing i'll have around 400 hp give or take a little. now all i need to do is get this truck the right stance to make her look good. Im new to the street scene and dont know much about lowering kits so any help would be appreciated.

1979 Ford F100 with a 4" drop in the rear and 2" in the front.

Waiting on the funds for the dream beams, and doing a flip in the rear.

Internally its stock. Just was rebuilt

Hopefully soon I will start building a 347 for it. Or maybe just dropping a 351 in it.

Thanks for the link.It proves you cant read.with the rpm intake it did not make 400hp.Look dude i have been doing the ford drag thing for 15+ years.I ran in the s/w class od ffw for 2 years.that was an all motor 311ci limit class..500 lift,650 carb ect was the limits.i know how hard it is to make hp with small cubes.with a combo like the above i was making 600 in a boss block.anyways this is the real world so don't get all hiped up over these articles because every motor is different even when they are the same.set your expectations low and then you want be disappointed.oh yeah by the way i know a younger guy in this area that read that article and guess what.he has the same motor in his 874x4.it makes good power but not 400.on another note if you need a victor intake for 302 or a msd billet dist i got both and maybe a few other parts laying around you could use.

To settle this, why dont you go ahead and build the engine then put it on an engine dyno. Then post the sheets on here so we all know what she did.:chinese:

i didnt change the build. the motor was actually built with those parts. i decided to put the single plane professional products hurricane (wannabe vic jr.) intake manifold on because the edelbrock intake just wasnt what i was looking for. plus i payed 100$ for the wanna be vic jr. intake. i got the trick flow heads because my stock heads turned out needing valve guides. and i dont mean to burst your bubble but the hurricane manifold is a high rise.:scary: by the way Mxjunkie that S10 is one sick mofo!! what's she runnin under the hood?

Really i didn't mean to ruffle your feathers with my first post and i got alittle out of hand on the second one but anyway they last thing i will say is that vic jr knock off ain't a high rise and neither is the real vic jr.doesn't really matter if it is or ain't it will make good power with your new combo.good luck with it.

Im going to go ahead here and say IN YOUR ORIGINAL post the mods you listed PROBABLY will not put down 400hp. With the trickflows it may.

Either way 400 CRANK hp out of a v8 with all the boltons heads and a cam and intake tuned properlu should put down over 400 whp 302's are just to small on stock bore, and stroke...therefor you need more displacement man. When you get that thing done bring er' up this way and ill show you what a real v8 can do, ill even pull out the lil' 150 shot.

it should make 400 flywheel hp with tw heads.the cam might not be a good choice and may be the limiting factor.my street car had a stock bottom end 302 with a lunati 51014 cam, eddy rpm2 intake,tw heads,1 3/4 longtubes,75mm tb 90mm maf and #24 injectors.through a tko it made 340 to the tires on motor alone and high 400's on the gas after the dyno tune.340 to the tires is 400 flywheel hp.now the 310in motor i talked about above was 60 over and stock stroke.it ran well in the 6's 1/8th mile no problem.you can make great power on 302 stock bottom ends at least until they split the block.

Hers my some pics of my turd. Stock floor body drop, 302, shaved everything, and ALOT of work. All metal also! Not some putty filled mess. Still gotta long ways to go to finish it yet, but im getting there in my free time.

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i309/jrspawn/100_4106.jpg

And another thing. 302's are not too small to build power bore and stroke wise. 400+hp at the flywheels isnt hard to get. A decent h/c/i setup will get you there(decent tune granted) With that said, we've had 9 sec. street cars on Stock bottom ends. Not the most reliable setup, but it did last. Go with a decent R, dart, or boss black and a decent bottom end and the numbers are almost endless. Its not an issue at all for under a 320ish ci setup to hold 1300+hp.

Heck, one of my street cars is for sale also:D 88 mustang, 306, 650ish HP range. Anyone looking let me know. Ive got a few other stangs also for sale from stock to wild!

Thank you
Justin
