I'm currently building my crf and noticed it appears there is a spacer missing in the rear of the engine. The part of the case where the pivot bolt goes through. I have some pics, let me know if I am missing anything. Thanks.

mine has spacers that go into the engine case and take up the space between the swingarm and engine.

Yes I have those, I meant to say bushing not spacer.

You can see in the pic there is a bushing on the right side, but on the left there is none. Pics are cell phone so they're crappy. Let me know what you guys think.

??? maybe this engine was in a quad frame before!!

that looks normal, the flange on the bushing in the left side of the engine is recessed into the case, however, if they are the oem crf bushings, they will be too big for your 400ex pivot bolt

The oem pivit bolt is .590 or 15mm 400ex and 450r

It looks like a bushing insert will have to be made to make up the difference.

Then spacing or machining for chain aliegnment.

ss440ex could you expand on the bushing insert and machining?

The guy I bought my frame from sent me the two spacers between the swingarm and engine. I thought those along with the stock 400ex pivot bolt was all I needed.

Hows the fit of the pivot bolt in the rear of the engine?
Should be a snug fit....

Then install your swing arm and start the chain aliegnment spacing.

Okay cool, the rest of my bike is at my parents home while the bike I'm building is in my home in college. So when I go home next I am wanting to get it all put together. Just making sure it's all right.

The guy I bought the spacers from had them in this exact frame with the same year engine. So hopefully it'll work.

But that bushing on the left is okay?
