Jeez I know you were putting in for a bear tag, just didn't know they gave them out for vehicles (wait you are in WV, but I'm pretty sure they still mean to shoot them out of cars not hit them). I can keep this going all night.:D Oh well, you know what they say "no use putting them back stock".

You sure it was a bear and not Moose. I've mistaken him for a bear many a times coming up too your house.

You hit it with the side of the car, and here I thought you had good aim.:p I wouldn't get it fixed, that's some good ole WV character. Those good ole boys pay for those kinda modifications (at least it seems that way from seeing vehicles with WV tags). Alright I'm done! Was there at least enough of it left to make a rug.

I couldnt find the bear...and the officer was a bit scared. He was almost to the point of ordering me out of the woods as I looked for it from the light of my cell phone:p

I was in the middle lane, running all alone on 68 at 70mph...damn thing came from my left and it was all I could do to get the car away from it. I was worried it would come over the hood:( Drivers door doesnt open to well, but im sure it can all be fixed.

Cell phone in one hand, .45 in the other I presume. All kidding aside, it was probably a good thing you didn't connect straight on. It still had to toss the car around a bit I imagine. Glad to hear your ok! Was this on 81? Didn't know they had bears around there.

cletusEX

Sweet! We have a few hammers (whitetails) running around the farm this year. I've only seen the smaller ones but a few guys that have killed some big whitetails in MoCo have seem some 140"+ guys running around. More than the usual one we see so I expect a nice one or two to hit the dirt this year. I've only managed to stick a sika doe but a big 6 point sika has already been killed on the property with a few more seen out of bow range. Always a good sign, so get that '06 sighted in!:)

Can do Nick...can do:macho

I cant wait to put this article together, I had an absolute blast....if the accident with the bear hadnt happen, it would have been a better day :p

This is the first time I had ever been to any type of deer farm. It wasnt as exciting as I expected because I knew the deer couldnt go anywhere, but this little doe and I had a ton of fun. She was an absolute sweatheart and I would have loved to have brought her home:p

Outlaw:confused: Renegade maybe but not an outlaw...not yet anyway:devil:

The piebalds really took me back...way back as in the early 80's. My dad shot a peibald 10 pointer that at the time was super rare. I remember people coming from all over to see it and his picture in the paper. I think he was with me yesterday in spirit:)

damn pappy you resemble your pappy! that's cool you got a pic of your dad to share! are the black bears more dominately on the east coast of the state?

Pappy
10-08-2008, 06:52 PM
They are growing in numbers in this area. The southern part of PA and the central to southern part of WV have had good bear numbers for sometime. The locals claim that any bear found in MD is either a WV bear or PA bear as noone, not even a bear wants to live in that state!:chinese:

seriously how much could you sell an albino like that to a hunting ranch?

Pappy
10-08-2008, 09:52 PM
Im still doing the research for the article, but some of these animals can go for a load of cash.

Some non typical bucks are being advertised online that start at$25k up to $100,000! Semen straws go from $250 to well over several thousand! Interesting stuff really if your into deer.

Ever see an Albino Moose? They are actually protected against hunters ... you shoot one you go to jail or lose everything you own.

I know some states have protection laws against white deer and other animals as well.
