05 bottom on 99 top

is this an easy job, my top is new, i just wanted reverse, how can i check to make sure the bottom is good

make sure there is no up and down play on the rod,if so have a new rod pressed on the crank or get one of those aftermarket plug and play crank assemblys.

so is it really just switching the top, like an direct bolt on

Getting a reverse bottom or a whole reverse engine are possibilities on my short list.


When you do it, update me on what has to be done to our older units for reverse engagement.

i just did this last winter when my rod broke and poked holes all over my motor lol... only diff i can remember is u need a sprocket for the newer bottom end and the retainer its diff ... and a diff starter other then that your top end will bolt right on and of course the reverse lever
