the man you bought it from said he ran it 50/50 or straight up av fuel..if thats the case, then it does not have a pump gas dome i would imagine other wise it would not have ran as well as the man described in his listing...i would not run 96 octane through that motor if it was me...if you haven't put the motor on yet then just pull the head off and find out what dome is in it..that shouldn't even take 30mins and then you'll know for sure...i would like to run that thing with the 50/50 and see what it's got...why are you wanting to run pump gas anyways..im sure you didnt buy a 350 to poke around the yard in...what kind of riding are you doing?keep in mind this motor would perform better with the race gas but it wont be quite as reliable, but thats the beauty of that motor..

i do a litlle mx some enduro and trail /field riding a mix of all really
i want to run pump gas cause race is to dam expensive 45 pound a gallon ( im only an apprentace joiner 7 pound a hr)
remember i live in the uk a rip off expensive country 1.25 a litre for pump yea thats right a litre and the north sea is just a stone throw away yet it costs so much :confused: :huh

my box is clear...the dome should come right out of the head and it should be stamped on it..

yea! pop the head off and the dome will have the size stamped into the underside of it.

btw the national average for petro is about $3.70 per u.s. gallon or about $.98 cents a liter

i had pm'ed you and you tried back but my box was full..you can pm me now cause i cleared it..yeah 93 octane is about $3.70 a gallon right now..i can buy 110 race fuel local for about $5.75 a gallon

Me either. It's not about running bad, it's about tearing up the motor. Especially since your pump fuel is likely rated in RON. Your 96 RON = 91 (R+M)/2 for anyone in North America. In other words, your 96 has the same detonation resistance as our 91.

Pump gas in that motor is silly. If you must run pump gas, lower the compression first.


Want some more numbers? He mentioned running av gas in the ad. There's a 99.9% chance he's talking about 100LL which as a minimum spec of 99.5 MON. There's usually about a 10 point spread between MON and RON. So....

--UK 96 octane pump gas = ~86 MON
--N America 91 octane pump gas = ~86 MON
--avgas = 99.5 MON (minimum spec).

That's a big difference. Even if that motor doesn't quite require 100 MON fuel, you can bet it needs more than 86 MON.

I've been paying I think US $6.75 for a gallon of VP110. That's pumped into my own jugs and I have to drive about 60 miles round trip to get it. I buy 10 or 20 gallons at a time and store it. It's a fine fuel with a 107 MON octane rating.

you might also want to see what type of compression the motor has...then pull the head off pop the dome out and call who ever makes it and tell them that you want to run pump gas..they should be able to send you the correct dome..good luck and check your pm's
