how can u hot wire a 400ex? isn't sumthing to do with where the ignition wire plugs in on the frame under the headlights? i forgot how to do it. i lost my key when i was moving and don't have the money to get a new ignition yet, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Post your VIN so we can tell you the correct proceedure for the correct years. Reverse lockout is different for the newer years.

or you can take your vin to the dealer and get a new key...with proof of ownership...

or you could just take your key switch out all together and just run a toggle switch. if you know anything about wireing it will be a piece of cake.

ya im pretty sure there is only 3 wires on the key switch. shouldnt be too complicated

Why ask or answer ways to steal a quad on this forum?

If you are the actual owner, take your VIN and Proof of Ownership to your nearest Honda Dealership and they will sell you a key for less than $10.00

10 bucks that is cheap! i must of got screwed.... they charged me like $21

its actually pretty easy to hotwire them. So easy once you know how you might be afraid of having your stolen because of the simplicity. I'm not going to post up how to hotwire a quad because I dont know if its stolen or not. Like the others said take i to the dealer and get a key.
