I took mine off, but I also did all of my other motor work at the same time. It only takes about an hour (if that), so I say do it, add a 40-42 pilot, and see what the ol' butt-o-meter says! Seems like you should get a little better flow, huh?

Whoops, my bad, I wasn't paying attention. I don't know about the 250ex, it might be a totally different deal.

don't do it if you don't have an accelerator pump in your carb. 400 ex's have them, i don't know about 250 ex's. with the pump you can just pump the gas a couple times and it gets the gas going. if u don't have one good luck starting w/o a choke, especially in the cold. but if u can, it will add a little power, and give you instant throttle response. you'll notice a difference after rejetting it. good luck, and it really doesn't take that long, it took me less than 20 minutes to take it out. it takes longer to take the plastic off and on than it does to take the choke off. and make sure you block any hole you opened up. use a vacuum cap to cover the hole.
